In support of local non-profit, Harmony House, Metropolitan National Bank teammates recently donated $638 and seven teammates volunteered 42 hours of time to help provide for a new classroom for the organization. Harmony House helps provide shelter, advocacy and education to the survivors of domestic violence.
“Completing the classroom for Harmony House was by far one of the most exciting and rewarding challenges for me in 2014,” said Darline Mabins, AVP and Banking Center Manager. “The level of excitement was energizing and helped us to create a much needed space for Harmony House, while also making a lasting contribution to a great organization.”
Metropolitan teammates poured their time into volunteering; helping with room clean up and painting. They also led the way in getting additional local companies to assist with the effort and complettion of this task. The team partnered with Midwest Office Supply, Bearden Carpet, FM Stores and Sherwin Williams to secure donations and help make this project a success.
“This project helped us as a company to see our vision statement at work: More than a bank … we strive to make drams reality!” said Mabins.
Metropolitan looks forward to continuing a tradition of giving back through ongoing acts of service in Springfield and surrounding communities.
