The City of Springfield Fire Department and the Missouri Fire Sprinkler Coalition have partnered together to host the Home Fire Sprinkler Summit on March 23rd at the Springfield Police & Fire Training Center (see images below for details). All HBA members are invited to attend this educational opportunity at no charge. The event is scheduled for 8:00am-3:30pm, but the sessions that would be of particular interest to builders are from 9:00am-1:30pm.
Also attached is the “Residential Fire Sprinkler Option” form and the “Consumer Information on Residential Fire Sprinkler Systems” brochure. I have attached these two documents to remind you that current state law states that you are required to educate your customer about fire sprinkler systems and to give your customer the option to install a fire sprinkler system in their brand-new home. The attached brochure can help with the education component of the law and the form gives you an easy way to show proof that the customer acknowledges having a discussion about fire sprinklers and what their decision was.
