The Home Builders Association of Missouri this week signed Jewell Patek (Patek & Associates) as its official contract lobbyist in Jefferson City. Patek will represent the interests of the statewide Home Builders Association on issues of vital importance to the future of the residential construction industry.

“Jewell has a reputation in Jefferson City as being an aggressive and highly effective advocate for his clients. He is joining us in our fight for to help us keep quality housing affordable in Missouri at a critical time in our industry’s history,” Rusty MacLachlan said. MacLachlan is president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield and past president of the HBA of Missouri.

“Housing equals jobs. It doesn’t have to be complicated,” MacLachlan continued. “The 2011 legislative session in Missouri will be the most important one in recent memory, as we work to advocate for policies that will get the construction industry back on its feet and restore our overall economy to where it belongs.
