The HBA Emerging Leaders is a committee of young or developing professionals that was started August of this year. This group consists of about 15 HBA Members in various roles within their companies who want to expand their industry knowledge, network, and get involved with the HBA.
In the two meetings that have taken place, The Emerging Leaders decided that their main focal points would be networking with peers and other HBA members, continuing education, and workforce development. Numerous members have already committed their time to volunteering at the Kid Pro Zone at the Remodeling EXPO in September and signing up to volunteer at Build My Future and Be Constructive events at Holland Elementary.
At the next meeting, the group is planning to have 4-5 senior HBA members attend a “speed dating” style question and answer session. The Emerging Leaders will prepare questions in advance and take turns speaking to and receiving advice from each senior member in small groups.
