The HBA Board of Directors voted to endorse passage of OTC’s Prop A & Prop B

According to Ozarks Technical Community College, Proposition B creates an additional five-cent property tax, which expires in 20 years. The average homeowner would pay just $10 more per $100,000 of assessed property per year. This money would go directly to OTC’s initiatives to further expand workforce training. These initiatives include constructing a Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Technology on the Springfield campus, expanding high-demand healthcare and technical programs to better meet regional needs, opening a new center in Republic, and relocating and expanding the agriculture program to the Richwood Valley Campus. Not only do we have good-paying jobs we can’t fill today because of a skills gap, studies show that in the coming years, our region will have additional workforce needs for higher-paying jobs targeted by these plans. A YES vote on Proposition B means you understand that our community must be prepared to meet these future workforce training needs. Employers here can’t expand and we can’t we attract new quality jobs to the area if we don’t have potential employees with the right skills.

On Tuesday March 20th, the HBA Board of Directors voted to endorse the passage of OTC’s Prop A & Pro B.
