Government Affairs Group Focused on Advocacy Day at State Capitol

At its recent meeting, the Government Affairs Committee finalized plans for HBA of Missouri Legislative Day. The bus will begin loading at Corporate Village’s parking lot at approx. 7:30 a.m. with the goal of departing for Jefferson City by 8 a.m. After lunch at Arris Pizza, the group will attend the HBA of Missouri general meeting and then split into groups for individual visits with legislators. Because there is no evening reception, the bus should depart for Springfield in the late afternoon.

The chartered bus is more than half way full so if you are builder member or wish to have a seat as a sponsor, call the office soon to reserve your space. Thank you to our sponsors to date including: Meek’s Lumber, Beaman Electric, 84 Lumber, Acme Brick, American Glass, Millstone Homes, V-Twin Flooring, Dyke Lumber, The Closet Company, and Willow Green Gardens. The committee approved the copy of the HBA of Greater Springfield 2010 Legislative Agenda.

The committee reviewed news about area municipal elections. A number of members are running for office in local cities including HBA board member Sam Clifton, Millstone Homes, who is running for Mayor of Nixa.
