Neighborhoods Ask Council to Require Registration, Inspection of Rentals

On Tuesday, October 4, Springfield City Council heard a request from a handful of representatives of Springfield neighborhoods. The request was for the council to consider adopting a registration and inspection program for single family rental residences in the city.

HBA of Greater Springfield CEO Matt Morrow, who co-chaired the city’s strategic planning committee on housing, urged council members to exercise caution and take a measured approach.
