Strategic Plan

The HBA Strategic Plan is an internal plan for continued growth and viability of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield. Below is the most recent strategic plan in place that was developed in 2015.


  • Member Support

    • Answer the question “Why should a consumer choose an HBA member over a non-member?”
    • Create a list of resources available through HBA and NAHB for members
    • Increase builder member exposure
    • Host focus group to learn why builders are not members
  • Advocacy

    • Increase relationships with municipalities in Greene County, Christian County and surrounding counties
    • Increase relationships with local and state governmental officials
    • Promote better engagement on governmental committees
    • Increase member participation on governmental committees
    • Increase awareness of funds needed to operate the CBBT
  • Marketing & Communication

    • Create a comprehensive marketing plan for the HBA
    • Perform communication audit of all materials that currently exist
    • Assess marketing revenue streams for effectiveness
    • Implement new revenue streams (marketing and sponsorships)
    • Conduct message testing within the industry and/or consumers to see what resonates with them
    • Find and utilize preferred methods of communication to members
    • Audit resources and staff time spent on communication, modify as needed
  • Membership

    • Re-energize membership committee
    • Involve more members in activities
    • Examine membership requirements
    • Increase membership
    • Implement dues increase strategy
  • Education

    • Educate home owners on the home buying process
    • Establish continuing education plan
    • Create “Why HBA?” educational pieces
