Pensmore Project Draws a Crowd for Salute to Construction Kick-Off

The 27th annual Salute to Construction festivities began last week with a successful reception at Chateau Pensmore in Christian County.  The 72,000 square foot first-of-its-kind home served as a very appropriate location for the kick-off and proclamation ceremony.  The fact that our region was selected as the place to build this home featuring the super insulating TransForm system by TF Concrete Forming Systems is a true testament to the skill and integrity of our residential and commercial construction companies and their employees.

Attendees were invited to tour the home and learn more about its mission to develop and showcase a variety of cutting-edge green building and safety technologies. Joe Jenkins introduced officeholders from the Christian County area who recognized the construction industry including its substantial contributions to job creation and economic development. Those in attendance presenting resolutions included Cheryl Mitchell and Julia Maples, representing the Christian County Commission, Representative Ray Weter of the 142nd District, Senator Jay Wasson of the 20th District, Anna Barbee of Congressman Billy Long’s office, and Dan Wadlington of Senator Roy Blunt’s office. Play the video below to see a montage of the proclamation ceremony.

The Salute’s Annual Awards Banquet takes place this week on Thursday, November 3 at the Clarion Hotel. Call the Springfield Contractors Association at 862-1313 for ticket information.
