KY3: As National Home Sales Decline, MacLachlan Sees Signs of Hope Locally

KY3‘s Cara Restelli reported Wednesday (March 23, 2011) on a national report that sales of new homes took an unexpected decline in the first part of 2011. However, such national reports often are a reflection of badly damaged and overbuilt larger markets in the hardest hit parts of the country.

Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield Past President Rusty MacLachlan is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Home Builders. MacLachlan explains in this report the importance of underlying new home inventory data and how that and other indicators point to optimism in housing markets throughout southwest Missouri.
